Well after almost a month to cast your votes in the annual RaceConnect Awards, the day of reckoning has arrived and I have great pleasure in announcing the results in each category. We are overwhelmed at the numbers of votes cast this year, which just shows that you are as nuts as we are about RaceConnect. We couldn't do what we do with out you and your support.
If your name is not on this list please dont take offence as non is intended by any one, take the measures and do what you feel necessary to get there next year.
Congratulations to all the winners and commiserations to the runners up, you will all be pleased to know that we haven't wasted the donations and purchased tacky tinpot trophy's, you will get nothing except the knowledge that in 2010 you were the best in the category.
There has been chatter in the forums recently regarding the long time dormant RC Academy and this led to a chat with some of our more successful drivers and aliens with a view to re branding the academy format. Ian Bundell and George Talbot have agreed to take the academy on and have secured the assistance of a couple of aliens to be instructors.
Now it would be simple to bang a couple of servers up to use for the academy, but no we at RaceConnect do like to do things properly. So it was Tom Phillips who was contacted next and his skills were put to work the result is a custom mod specificaly for the academy. This mod will allow GT2, BMW1, FBMW and Japanese F3 to used on the same track at the same time in the same server. A full on Sim Racing School is the result.
Yes, its that time of year again, the RaceConnect awards. Voting is now open across 10 categories click below to start voting! Maybe you will be like Mr Vettel over here...
Please have a look and get involved in the process, the
RaceConnect community is building a history with every event run, and
this feature will help to build RaceConnect community even further.
With immediate effect there shall be no more messaging of race server passwords prior to the official release time. Passwords are in place for a reason and with passwords being passed out via pm goes some way to undermine the securities we put in place. If you are in the server when the password is changed all well and good.
Teamspeak password will not be passed by any member, only admin can issue the password again this for your and our security. Any member disclosing passwords may face suspension.
Race Server passwords are released at approx 17:00 uk time. TeamSpeak password is only available by private messaging an admin, a request in the shoutbox will not get a shoutbox reply of the password.
For quite a while now RaceConnect has had a library for set ups. Some of our alien quick drivers have shared some of their set ups for us mere mortals to try.
Now just downloading and installing a setup is not going to make you alien fast, now this is because every drivers equipment is different and hardware settings vary. But this does not make setups useless, far from it.
Also a drivers style will make a set up work differently, so no set up shared is going to be perfect but more a starting point for the individual to fine tune.
Now we are at the time of the year where we are going to see fewer drivers on the grid due to vacations, family and just the nice weather and longer lighter evenings. I feel we need to close the fields up a little to max the enjoyment.
