Quite simply our Terms & Conditions are more or less general rules that outline what we are about and what RaceConnect stands for. RaceConnect prides itself upon the idea that it is a place to race for everyone, regardless of driving skills and not an elitist drivers club. Below, is a set of rules that outline these factors.
1) The number one rule is:- Have Fun, to us, there is no point to the whole aspect of simulated racing otherwise.
2) Play fair: - Winning is great, but if this is achieved through unfair or dubious methods then your win will have little meaning at RaceConnect.
3) Respect of RaceConnect & Its Community: - Members who disrespect the league by not following the rules for which they have agreed upon during registration or disrespect the RaceConnect Community members on track or within forums, private messaging, blogs or comments will come under quick review.
To this effect, we do reserve the right to terminate your membership under these circumstances.
Situations occur on track from time to time which fall under a cloud of "opinion", for this reason, RaceConnect have a 3 man review board, the "Race Jury" who shall remain anonymous, who shall adjudge racing incidents of this nature should a complaint arise. If, under these circumstances an incident was deemed worthy of a penalty ruling, members are expected to serve their penalties with "good grace" or "sportsmanlike attitude"
Most "racing incidents" are just that, and we hope not to have to send too many incidents to the review board.
4) League Etiquette:- Drivers are expected to conduct themselves in a sporting manner on track at all times. Quick button comments like “Thank You”, “Sorry” & “No Problem” are greatly encouraged during races. A simple sorry during a contest can go a long way to calm an upset driver. All other race chat is expected to be kept at a minimum throughout the “actual” race to help drivers concentrate.
5) Punting Rule
Terms of Reference
Punting is
defined as the nose of the car making contact with the car in front and
the leading car is knocked significantly off line enough for it to
leave the track or lose position.
The nose section
shall be defined as from the start of the front wheels on the left side
of the car, to then end of the front wheels on the right side.
A nudge is
defined as the car making contact with the car in front but the leading
car is not significantly affected enough to lose position or line on
the track
A Tactical Punt
is defined as the leading driver braking significantly earlier than
usual and causing himself to be punted by the driver behind.
Race Connect is introducing a punting rule as defined below. This will be introduced to selected championships.
Rule
Where
a car punts the car(s) in front of him causing that car to lose
position or leave the track, the punter, must server a pit lane drive
through penalty. This penalty will be voluntary; do not expect to be
told to serve the drive through. Failure to serve the penalty will
result in a post race loss of one lap, therefore significantly
affecting your finishing position. The drive thought must be served on
the next lap after the punt.
A distinction will be made between
a nudge and punt, as defined in the terms of reference. Whilst this may
leave the definition of the contact to the perpetrator of the contact,
any reported failure to serve a drive though penalty will be analysed
by the race jury and they will define that contact as nudge or a punt
and apply the appropriate penalty.
An exception will be made
where a driver affects a punt as result of being punted himself. The
race jury will adjudicate if necessary.
An exception will be
made where a punt is made but the punt is a result of a driver braking
significantly earlier than usual. This will be defined as a tactical
punt, where the leading driver might be trying to get the chasing
driver penalised intentionally. The race jury will analyse and
adjudicate if this is reported. A driver found affecting a tactical
punt shall be disqualified from the race and placed last.
Please do not “FLAME” , whether it be during race sessions or any league literate site activity.
From experience, race sim drivers are prone to mistakes, after all they are human, and the majority of race contact is actually “NOT INTENDED”.
Finally.........PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO RACE!
Our database is regularly swept of inactive members.
If you agree to adhere by "ALL" these rules & regulations, then please continue with your membership application.
