RaceConnect Le Mans Series
Written by Richard Sobolewski
After two successful seasons of endurance racing at RaceConnect, long distance racing once again makes a return. Following the previous STES seasons the championship has been rebranded to reflect a change in series format which I hope will bring a breath of fresh air to the series. RaceConnect's Le Mans Series will once again make use of Enduracers fantastic Endurance Series mod, hopefully using the latest version. RCLMS will visit a host of new tracks, as well as old favourites around the globe to bring you the best possible endurance expirence and the best racing for drivers of all skill level. I look forward to seeing you on the 19th of September for Round 1 at Paul Ricard!

Continuing the theme of moving away from rFactor only championships RaceConnect brings you the PCC Trophy for GTR Evo.
Using the stunning looking and sounding Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup mod for GTR Evo this championship will be set over 4 rounds in these fun and easy to handle GT3 spec Porsce 911's.
The mod is available in the download section and instructions for installation can be found in the downloaded archive or in the forum.
The mod requires you to have GTR Evo & Race 07 installed but does NOT require Race On.
All tracks being used come with the game.
Registration for round 1 is open kicking off at Oschersleben 06 on 10th August.
With several current rfactor series coming to an end I'd like to welcome you all to the Elise Challenge. So dust of your GTR2 game and join us for the return of a truely great race sim. This will be a fortnightly Tuesday series, run over 4 rounds, using the standard Lotus Elise (it comes in blue or blue!) and four of the original games tracks.
Races will be 30 minutes long, and aim to provide close on track battles
in these pocket rockets. In keeping with the recent sucess of the
limited laps qualifying used in rfactor we will be running a 4 lap
maximum style session, giving drivers two flying laps to post their best
times.
I highly recommend getting your old copies of GTR2 out and giving these a
try as they are easy to drive and great fun to race. Also, if we get a
grid for all four rounds we may run a wet race in the final round for a
bit more added spice.
The series begins at Hockenheim, I hope to see you there. Registration
is open, check out the series page for full details and timings.
You will need to make sure you version of GTR2 is patched to v1.1. David has kindly provided some links in the forum if you are having trouble finding it.
Monday 2nd August sees Formula BMW come to RaceConnect. Using v2.2 of iDT's superb mod this championship will run with 30 minute races over 6 rounds.
See the series page for more details and head to the download section to grab the mod and any tracks you may need. You will need to install v2.0 and then the v2.2 patch.
Registration for round 1 is open, see you there for some easy to handle open wheel action.
Due to my recent employment change i am struggling to find time to keep up with all my RaceConnect commitments. I am therefore looking for 3 or 4 members to assist me with the publishing of motorsport news items. No html knowledge is required. No writing skills needed either. The publication is as simple as copy/paste.
Full instruction of the system we use will be given. All you need is a little time each day and an email address that we can forward the press releases to.
Please contact me by email only to
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
and please leave the following details email address to use. Full name (as this will be used as your login name) nationality and also motorsport interest.
This is open to all members and is a VOLUNTARY position so there will be no reward for your time.
Congratulations to Iain on taking the British leg tour but now it is time to move on and fight for the honours in the European leg of the tour.
Starting with a WTCC layout of Paul Ricard on Thursday 29th July the championship will again be fought over 8 rounds, each of 3 races, keeping to the same format as the British leg.
In keeping with previous seasons we want your custom skins!
If you or your team have custom skins that you wish to use then please email them to
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
The deadline for skin submissions is Saturday 24th July 13:00UK time.
Please see the E90 forum for details of what is required regarding formats and available numbers.
Tom will then create the European leg skin pack and make it available for download a couple of days later.
The skinpack will be a mandatory download.
It will be made available in the E9 Zero World Tour category within the rFactor mods category in the download area.
See the series page for full details and timings and you will need to download the tracks from our download section as many of them have had improvements and modifications made from the originals.
They will be made available as and when they are finished and required for the series and can be found in a E90 World Tour category at the top of the rFactor tracks category.
These tracks will not overwrite any original versions that you may already have so you can still use the originals elsewhere without receiving mismatch errors.
All track downloads have the correct folder structure in them already, simply extract the whole archive to your locations folder. Looking through them and attempting to put things where you think they should be is what causes problems.
With the latest season of the Skoda sprints over it will now take a rest and in it's place we bring you the BMW M3 E46 Street Racing series.
Set over 6 rounds on Thursday evenings this series will use a modified version of the E46 street racing mod with a number of improvements implemented by Tom Phillips.
Featuring 3 x 10 lap races per round and random grids for each race with cars that have very little in the way of available setup alterations the emphasis of this series will be on improving drivers race craft and confidence to help improve skills that are transferable to some of the more demanding series that we run.
I highly recommend giving this version of the mod a go as they provide excellent fun and are very drivable and should produce some excellent pack racing much like the Skoda's and E90's.
As mentioned this will use a modified version of the mod and therefore you will need to make sure you download the version from our downloads section to avoid any mismatches.
The series kicks off at Waneroo on Thursday 22nd July. Registration is open, all required files for the series are in the download section and check out the series page for full details and timings.
