Sunday 8th January, will see the commencement of RaceConnect's GT Pro Series, with what looks like a fantastic entry.
Thanks to all who have registered so far, and nominated their car choice in the thread found: HERE . If you have not yet done so, please post as soon as possible with your preferred car & livery.
The entry currently stands at 36, and 4 further slots have been made available for members to join should they wish to do so. If you have registered and cannot attend, please de-register. Registering and not showing up is not ideal, unless last minute unforeseen issues arise.
A number of members have already joined the server and run a few laps of practice. 16 drivers have posted practice times, with a further 5 having joined the server (data from Live-Racers Timing) to check things are setup correctly. Thanks to those members. Some hints found in THIS THREAD , could help anyone who may be having issues joining.
Please do not leave testing server compatibility until the evening of the event, as joining the server only to have mismatches with 30 members trying to practice won't be the best way to start your evenings racing.
The timetable for the evening is:
Qual 8:30pm 30 minute session unlimited laps
GT2's run for 15min, then GT1's
Warm up 9:00pm 5minutes
Race: 9:05pm 62 min (extra 2min for formation lap)
Fuel set to x2.
Virtual Start Time: 1:00pm
With potentially 32+ on the grid, awareness and adherence to RaceConnect's racing rules are very important. They can be found by clicking the link at the top of the RaceConnect homepage, or the forum thread HERE .
An explanation of the Manual Rolling start is given in these rules, and for Sunday's race (RCR8), the formation will be run in 'Single File'.
As this is a 'daylight' race, then lights should be 'Off'. Flashing of lights is Not permitted, either when following traffic or approaching lapped cars. A quick (single) flash to acknowledge thanks after lapping a car is fine.
Driver respect & awareness, through Qualifying, and particularly the early laps of the race. Pit Exit during qualifying must be timed carefully, ensuring other competitors are not impeded.
Good Luck to everyone who has entered, and if you have any questions, please ask now, rather than on the evening, when members will be trying to put in final laps of practice.
