The opening race for this series.

I didn’t find time to practice. If I had, then maybe I could have competed for a place in the top three.

Marc was close to reaching me, but a small mistake (and start of the race) saved me. There was a tough pressure state.

There was a great fight ahead :)

Thank you for the video, Ari. I was amazed to find that I could run a similar pace to Ross and Denis. Our laptimes were so similar that I could stay close to them but not find a safe way to pass. Eventually they both made the slightest of errors which cost a bit of momentum and I could get by. The challenge was then to try and avoid any errors on my part and I guess I succeeded as I finished in P2, far behind the maestro Jukka B) . Congrats also to Denis who grabbed the final podium spot ahead of a hard-charging Ross :)

A jump start sent me right to the pits and took 12 sec to re-enter the race.
Driving smoothly took me closer to Ari, but a small error in the end took another 2 sec loss so that an overtake on Ari was out of reach. For the next race I have to practice a bit more in order to be more competitive. Thanks to all for another evening well spent. It was great fun as usual.

Thanks to Ross for setting it up.

See you on the next round.

Thanks Ari for the Video as ever. Great record of the race.

These cars take a bit of getting used to, but once I got the hang of the braking and turn in, and getting on the accelerator a.s.a.p., then the times got better. I was still learning the timing on some corners right up to the final lap, where I managed my best lap time. With the low power in the car, there's a lot of time to be sacrificed if momentum is lost by going too deep into a corner.

Bill and Dennis did a great job of driving close/dicing, and maintaining good lap times. I was able to stay close, but never managed to actually get close enough to challenge.

Jukka was super rapid up front as ever.

Looking forward to the two American rounds, with Bridgehampton up next (not really a F1 track that was used, but it's retro feel does fit in the theme of the Historic series).

Thanks all for racing. Let's hope we get the same grid for the next round, plus maybe a few new names too.

Summary of the race.

I said four weeks ago that I need to practice differently for the Bridgehamton race.
It happened because I didn’t practice at all
Miracle when I survived the finish line without damage.
